The Directorate General of Shipping is an attached office of the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India and deals with all matters concerning the Maritime Administration, Maritime Education and Training, development of Shipping Industry and other related subjects.
ADU Academy India is an ISO 9001:2015 certified institution and strictly adheres to the stated Quality Objectives for delivering e-Learning courses and online examinations. It is one of the pioneers in offering online and blended learning courses for the maritime industry.
During the Maritime India Summit in April 2016, the Directorate launched e-learning courses to supplement the existing classroom education for seafaring Indian officers, both in Engineering and Nautical streams, in their preparation for Certificate of Competency Examinations conducted by them. These e-learning courses are being conducted by ADU Academy India.
Based on the growing demand for e-learning courses, as reflected in the large number of officers enrolling for the supplementary courses on the e-learning platform, the Directorate has decided to include all STCW Modular courses, effective January 2020.
ADU Academy India has been awarded the task of delivering e-learning modules for STCW modular courses, in strict adherence to DGS Syllabi, as prescribed in the latest TEAP Part B Manual.
The STCW Modular courses are available in this Learning Management portal and can be accessed by students 24x7 during the full period of their enrolment to the course.
